Los Angeles, CA · Full-Time, On-Site · Reports to Senior Designers · FLSA Exempt · 3-5 years experience
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a hands-on design and project support role for a mid-level designer who is ready to take on real ownership across all phases of high-end residential work — from Concept through Design Development, Procurement, and Installation. You’ll work closely with the Principals and Senior Designers, contributing across programming, space planning, concept development, construction documentation, and client presentations. This role demands range: creativity, organization, and the ability to adapt to multiple design styles and delivery methods.
WHAT YOU’LL OWN
01 Lead design tasks across programming, space planning, concept development, furniture design, custom millwork development, and construction documentation.
02 Select interior finishes, decorative lighting, plumbing, appliances, decorative hardware, and window treatments; develop and present cohesive concepts in InDesign for client review.
03 Collaborate with the Principal, Creative Director, and Senior Designers to develop fabric palettes and furniture selections that accurately reflect the AE+A aesthetic.
04 Review strike-offs for interior finish materials and shop drawings for cabinetry, stone, shower enclosures, doors and windows, etc.
05 Prepare, coordinate, and maintain interior drawings, schedules, and digital material boards for construction.
06 Coordinate and complete construction documents in collaboration with architects and contractors to uphold design intent throughout.
07 Maintain quality control through a project’s completion: finished construction, furniture completion, contractor punch lists, and follow-through.
08 Prepare and maintain furniture budgets; obtain quotes and prepare specifications for furniture, lighting, accessories, and artwork.
09 Coordinate with the purchasing department for client proposal submittals and order expediting across concurrent projects.
10 Manage vendors through all stages of quotes, bidding, project management, and installation — including on-site supervision and shop visits to review furniture in production.
11 Communicate and collaborate with clients, vendors, GCs, sub-contractors, consultants, furniture dealers, and fabricators to meet overall project objectives.
12 Maintain strong client relationships and confidence throughout every phase of the project.
13 Create, delegate, and oversee project tasks in Asana to keep timelines and team accountability on track.
14 Keep the team informed of progress, potential conflicts, and emerging issues in a timely and proactive manner.
